Dear Faculty,

Dean Daley invites you to serve as a faculty marshal this fall and help usher in our new class of SCA students, the class of 2030!

The New Student Convocation is the official welcome to all new students and their parents, signifying their entrance into the Trojan Family. The event marks the students’ entrance into our academic community, formally bestowing the rights, privileges and expectations to the Class of 2030, incoming transfer students, graduate students and doctoral candidates that begin in Fall of 2026. 

New Student Convocation will be held on Thursday, August 20 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in Alumni Park. Students line-up for the processional in McCarthy Quad at 7:45 a.m. with the processional starting at 8:30 a.m. The academic processional includes the new students and student flag bearers, representing each academic unit on campus, and the platform party of trustees, senior administration, and deans. In addition to the customary welcome and traditional remarks from the President, the Fall program includes a greeting from each Academic Dean to recognize the new students as members of their new school. At the conclusion of the convocation, students will recess out by school.

SCA must identify 4-5 faculty marshals to accompany us in the academic processional. The faculty marshals are crucial to a successful and orderly student processional. A formal invitation will be sent to each individual to confirm their participation and regalia rental information.
