School of Cinematic Arts Commencement

Dear SCA Graduating Students,

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! This momentous occasion is the culmination of your hard work and dedication and we look forward to celebrating this day with you and your families. As you know from President Folt's recent communication, State authorities have permitted the University to host in-person Commencement ceremonies with limited guests at the LA Memorial Coliseum which would include the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021. In addition, each School will host a virtual graduation celebration on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

SCA's virtual celebration will take place at 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time. Details will follow in a separate communication about how to access the virtual celebration. Below please find important information on what you can do now to prepare.

  • All graduating students should register by March 31, 2021 for SCA's virtual celebration by visiting the SCA Community site Click on Commencement Registration under My Tools section.

  • By registering, your name will automatically appear in the name scroll at the end of the virtual celebration. Those students who do not wish to be included will need to opt out via their registration in SCA Community.

  • For this year's celebration, we are asking interested seniors to share reflections about their time at SCA or on campus (via video or still photography) for consideration for a special video segment to be shown within the virtual celebration. Stills of graduating students pictured in their regalia are welcome. Please send all materials here by March 31, 2021.

  • Cap and gown and other graduation-related items can be ordered at the USC Bookstore.

USC is committed to providing an accessible, inclusive, and equitable virtual graduation experience. The virtual celebration for the School of Cinematic Arts will be fully captioned.
