USC's highest priority is the well-being of our campus community, and the well-being of anyone who visits our campus. In order to do our part to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, the SCA Admissions Office remains closed to visitors. We look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event soon.

Register for a Fall Admissions Event

The School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) is excited to host programming events this fall so that you may learn more about SCA. Please view the available events according to your student level and register for an event according to the instructions below. Events are open to all prospective students and families interested in the School of Cinematic Arts. Virtual events will be conducted via Zoom and the Zoom link will be emailed the morning of the event.

Prospective Undergraduate Applicants (First-Year Freshmen and Transfer Students)

       Prospective First-Year Freshmen

  • Virtual Undergraduate Open House
    The Virtual Open House will be the most comprehensive virtual event for prospective undergraduate applicants. The Virtual Open House will include an admissions presentation, current student panel and faculty panel. You will be able to ask questions you may have about the School of Cinematic Arts and the application process.

  • Virtual Undergraduate Financial Aid Session
    The Virtual Financial Aid Session will provide information about financing your USC education, the financial aid process at USC and scholarship opportunities provided to School of Cinematic Arts students.
    • Wednesday, November 3rd at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
  • Virtual Undergraduate Alumni Panel
    The Virtual Alumni Panel will give you the opportunity to meet and hear from alumni who have recently graduated from the School of Cinematic Arts. You will be able to hear their stories and ask questions about their journey as a SCA student and their transition into the industry.

    The Virtual Open House will be the most comprehensive virtual event for prospective undergraduate applicants. The Virtual Open House will include an admissions presentation, current student panel and faculty panel.     Join the SCA Admissions staff and SCA Student Affairs staff for an information session to learn more about applying to the SCA undergraduate programs for the Fall 2022 semester. Topics will include an overview of the school, programs and facilities, financial aid, Q&A with staff and more!

    Join the SCA Admissions staff for an online information session to learn more about applying as a Transfer student to the SCA undergraduate programs for the Fall 2022 semester. Topics will include an overview of the school, programs and facilities, financial aid, Q&A with staff and more!

Prospective Graduate Applicants

    The Virtual Open House will be the most comprehensive virtual event for prospective graduate applicants. The Virtual Open House will include an admissions presentation, current student panel and faculty panel. You will be able to ask questions you may have about the School of Cinematic Arts and the application process.

    This event is not for prospective PhD students. Prospective students interested in the Cinema & Media Studies PhD program should contact mediastudies@cinema.usc.edu and students interested in the Media Arts + Practice PhD program should contact map@cinema.usc.edu.

Prospective First-Year Freshmen:
Please register for a School of Cinematic Arts virtual information session following the steps below.

  • Visit the School of Cinematic Arts Virtual Information Session page at https://applyto.usc.edu/portal/sca_virtual
  • Use the displayed calendar to register for your preferred date
  • You will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link for the session the morning of the session
  • In addition, we encourage you to explore the menu of virtual programming offered by the Office of Undergraduate Admission that includes USC information sessions, virtual campus tours, and student panels

Prospective Transfer Applicants:

  • In-Person Current USC Transfer Information Session (This event is for current USC transfer students only)
    Join the SCA Admissions staff and SCA Student Affairs staff for an information session to learn more about applying to the SCA undergraduate programs for the Fall 2022 semester. Topics will include an overview of the school and programs, facilities, SCA scholarships and academic advising.
