The SCA Summer Program: Start Your Journey into the World of Cinematic Arts
The USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) Summer Program invites students aged 16 and older from around the globe to immerse themselves in the world of film, television, and interactive media through accredited college-level courses - without the need for formal admission into a degree program.
The SCA Summer Program is an intensive, hands-on experience that mirrors the rigorous, professional-level curriculum of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. You'll dive deep into the art, craft, and business of cinematic media, all while learning from SCA's esteemed faculty and industry professionals who bring real-world expertise to the classroom.
With fully accredited courses, you'll not only gain invaluable skills but also earn elective college credits that are transferable to USC and other universities. Classes are held on USC's state-of-the-art campus, giving you access to world-class facilities, including sound stages, editing rooms, theaters, and industry-standard production equipment. The Program goes beyond the classroom, offering a dynamic schedule of screenings, seminars, and exclusive meetings with renowned directors, actors, producers, writers and executives who are shaping the industry today.
Running for six transformative weeks from late June through early August, the SCA Summer Program covers a wide range of disciplines, including film production, screenwriting, directing, editing, animation, interactive game design, and industry studies. Enrollment opens December 15 on a first-come, first-served basis, so seize the opportunity to be part of this unforgettable experience.
All of our courses in the SCA Summer Program are specifically designed and intended for students who are not currently enrolled in USC/SCA. We cannot offer D-Clearance to USC students.
