Fall 2026 Horror Film Class -- Open to ALL USC Students for Enrollment


The School of Cinematic Arts invites USC Students of ALL YEARS & MAJORS
to Register for the Fall 2026 Semester Course:
 

CTPR-499: Horror Cinema
From IT to WEAPONS

Taught by SCA Professor Dr. Rebekah McKendry

Horror Class
Tuesday nights from 6:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.

All USC Students are eligible to enroll.
NO D-CLEARANCE NEEDED. 2 UNITS.


From Smile to Terrifier, and from Weapons to the Evil Dead franchise, this course examines how horror films are made from initial concept to final release. Students will explore story development, scripting, trends, pre-production, directing and production, post-production, and the unique craft of building fear on screen. The class also covers international horror trends, marketing, and the evolution of franchises, giving students a comprehensive overview of how a horror film moves from idea to audience.
