Dear Fellow Staff Members,

It’s time once again to mark your calendars for our students’ big day in May!

The Dean would like to remind all staff that Commencement Day IS NOT A HOLIDAY and SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS A VACATION DAY.

The success of this culminating day of the academic year can only be achieved by each of us doing as much as we can for our events, or by keeping our offices running. Staff members from all departments are called upon to participate in the SCA’s events.

Please confirm your availability to work the event via RSVP. We understand some staff have extenuating circumstances (graduating, family, etc.) PLEASE EMAIL ME and let me know if you cannot attend. If you are new to SCA, or have not worked at an SCA Commencement event, please respond to this email and let me know as well.

Division Leads please be on the lookout for an email from Abby and expect to be looped into pertinent communications for your division and role earlier this year. It takes a village, and we're happy to have you all!

Tori Esquer in Student Services is coordinating the SCA Commencement Reception and will reach out to those staff needed for this event.

Corrine Ellingson in SCA Advancement manages the SCA Faculty Luncheon and will contact SCA staff needed for this event.

Abby Mark produces the SCA Commencement Ceremony and will notify staff needed for this event.

 

Commencement Timeline:

Thursday, May 14 - USC Main Commencement
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Tickets required)
6:30pm 

Friday, May 15 - SCA COMMENCEMENT DAY
Shrine Auditorium (Tickets TBA)
1:00pm

SCA Commencement Reception
SCA Complex
3 pm - 5pm            

SCA Faculty Luncheon (Full-time Faculty only)
Robert Zemeckis Center, Kurosawa & Kubrick Stages
*10:15am - 12:30pm


If students and/or their parents have any questions about Commencement, please refer them to the student’s Division office for information (i.e., CAMS, Animation, Expanded Animation, IMGD, MA+P, Production, Stark or Writing).  Division office information can be found on the SCA Commencement web page.
