The Eileen Norris Cinema Theater at the Frank Sinatra Hall, 3507 Trousdale Parkway, Los Angeles, CA 90007

After years of anticipation, a truly unmissable event arrives in cinemas worldwide on March 21 as the electrifying Lise Davidsen tackles one of the ultimate roles for dramatic soprano: the Irish princess Isolde in Wagner’s transcendent meditation on love and death. Heroic tenor Michael Spyres stars opposite Davidsen as the love-drunk Tristan. The momentous occasion also marks the advent of a new, Met-debut staging by Yuval Sharon—hailed by The New York Times as “the most visionary opera director of his generation” and the first American to direct an opera at the famed Wagner festival in Bayreuth—as well as Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time leading Tristan und Isolde at the Met. Mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova reprises her signature portrayal of Brangäne, alongside bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny, who sings Kurwenal after celebrated Met appearances in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Ring cycle. Bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green makes an important role debut as King Marke.

DUELLE
AGFA Movie Hooky Club IMAX Matinee Screening: DUELLE (1975)

The Michelle & Kevin Douglas IMAX Theater, RZC 119, Robert Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts, 3131 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007

The second installment of a four-part series that was never completed, Rivette's film is a haunting fantasy about two goddesses (Bulle Ogier and Juliet Berto) who descend to contemporary Paris and battle for possession of a magic stone that will allow them to remain on earth. The plot decodes into a conflict between the magical and the realistic cinema -- Lumiere versus Melies -- and Rivette works out this contradiction in long takes that encompass enigmatic situations and mysterious characters. Darker and quieter in tone than Rivette's better-known CELINE AND JULIE GO BOATING, though just as inventive and cryptically intelligent.

A BAY OF BLOOD
AGFA Movie Hooky Club IMAX Matinee Screening: A BAY OF BLOOD (1971)
April 7, 2026, 3:00 P.M.
The Michelle & Kevin Douglas IMAX Theater, RZC 119, Robert Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts, 3131 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007

After having established the giallo genre with BLOOD AND BLACK LACE in ‘64, Mario Bava once again forever alters the horror landscape with A BAY OF BLOOD in ‘71. This primal scream of a film doesn’t merely hint at what’s to come later in its decade with TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and HALLOWEEN. Rather, it bursts onto the scene as *the first slasher*, fully formed, without threadbare hallmarks of anything labeled with the “proto-” prefix. A BAY OF BLOOD seriously delivers the goods in the slasher thrills department, and was the source material for two of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2’s greatest kills…this thing’s even set at a lakeside cabin (hint, hint!) Whether you’re a first-time or repeat viewer of A BAY OF BLOOD, you owe it to yourself to luxuriate in this newly-restored masterpiece.

The Red Light Bandit Poster
AGFA Movie Hooky Club IMAX Matinee Screening: THE RED LIGHT BANDIT (1968)
April 14, 2026, 3:00 P.M.
The Michelle & Kevin Douglas IMAX Theater, RZC 119, Robert Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts, 3131 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007

Director Rogério Sganzerla became the face of the underground Cinema Marginal movement when he released his explosive debut RED LIGHT BANDIT and changed Brazilian cinema forever. Based on a real-life Robin Hood figure who roamed São Paulo in the 1960s, the film follows bandit Jorge as he runs rampant across the city in a spree of robberies against the upper class, demeaning the local police and stealing the hearts of the people in the meantime. Blending potent sociopolitical critique with splashes of grindhouse madness, RED LIGHT BANDIT is a gleeful and angry middle finger to anything that stands in its way.

The Church Poster
AGFA Movie Hooky Club IMAX Matinee Screening: THE CHURCH (1989)
April 21, 2026, 3:00 P.M.
The Michelle & Kevin Douglas IMAX Theater, RZC 119, Robert Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts, 3131 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007

In medieval times, a band of crusaders massacre a village of supposed devil-worshippers and build a large cathedral atop the mass grave to keep the evil sealed within. But when a mysterious crypt is accidentally opened centuries later, a group of tourists and staff find themselves trapped inside the church with the spirits of the slaughtered and possessed by the demonic forces one-by-one. Legendary Italian horror maestro Dario Argento (SUSPIRIA) presents this stylish shocker from director Michele Soavi (CEMETERY MAN), featuring an orgy of nightmarish visual effects and a memorable score from Goblin, Keith Emerson, and Philip Glass.
