Shawn Levy Gets “Real”

Alum/Real Steel Director visits Leonard Maltin’s Class

Real Steel is a story about massive robots that fight in a future world where mechanics have replaced boxers. When Leonard Maltin began the discussion of the film, Real Steel director/SCA alumnus Shawn Levy joked, “I wanted to make a small, intimate film.”

Levy graduated from the Production Division with an MFA in 1994 and went on to direct Cheaper by the Dozen, Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Date Night.

On October 3rd, Levy sat down with SCA to discuss how the skills he learned at SCA translated into the family film that is opening on October 7th in theatres and IMAX.
