There is no guarantee that International Students will be issued a visa, so we suggest that you do not make your final travel plans or buy tickets until you have received your valid student visa, if needed.
Getting to Campus
Due to the uncertainty of customs and flight delays, students are responsible for their own travel arrangements to the USC campus.
The most commonly used services to get to campus from Los Angeles International Airport are Lyft, Uber, Opoli, or aTaxi.
Please note:
- Only Lyft Black or Uber Black rideshare will pick up students curbside at LAX in front of the Terminal.
- If you choose Standard or Economy options for Lyft or Uber, you will NOT be able to get picked up directly in front of the terminal.
- Instead you must go to LAX-it, which is located before entering the airport right next to Terminal 1. You can either walk
or catch the free shuttle outside baggage claim on Level One to get to LAX-it.
- If using this option, these are the steps to follow with some tips.
- Shuttle stops are clearly marked by the large green pillars with "LAX-it" on them.
- The shuttles come around every 7 - 10 minutes.
- Must be at LAX-it to call for the rideshare.
- Type or choose LAX-it as the location to pickup from.
- Once the rideshare is confirmed, you will be given a Pick-Up Section location, which will be a letter followed by a number, i.e. B30.
- Go to that section and wait for your ride to arrive.
- Check into housing or dorm (if applicable)
- Pick up your USC ID Card from USCard Services.
- Explore the campus with the Self-Guided Tour map.
- Visit the School of Cinematic Arts Complex-your creative home this summer
- Stock up at Target and Trader Joe's and explore the USC Village.
- Meet fellow SCA Summer Program students and start building your community
- First 2 hours: Free (no validation required)
- After 2 hours: $5 for each additional 30 minutes
- Daily maximum: $30
Rental Cars for Adult Students:
For Adult Students who want to rent a car instead of using a rideshare, TURO - which is like Air BnB for cars - come highly recommended by parents and past students.
