The Annual SCA Freshmen Video Awards
Welcome Home takes the Grand Prix Award
The winners of the SCA Alphies 2010 were announced in November following a brief presentation and screening of all submissions. The Annual SCA Freshmen Video Awards are open to all SCA freshmen. Participants were challenged with the creation of a two-minute visual story based on the theme, “Expect the Unexpected.” Everyone arrives to college with certain expectations, but there are always surprises along the way and this was an opportunity for our Freshmen to demonstrate creative liberty in exercising and interpreting the theme at hand.
To heighten the challenge, students had to find their own resources when creating the video – no SCA equipment or facilities could be used. Silver, Gold and Grand Prix were awarded. The panel of judges were impressed by the collaborative spirit and creativity exhibited throughout the process. Submissions and participation were up from the inaugural year and we extend our congratulations to all of those involved, as every project exemplified the ambition and talent of our Fall 2010 Freshmen cohort.
