Paula Patton’s Homecoming!
By Desa Philadelphia
School of Cinematic Arts alumna Paula Patton ’97 returned to campus on invitation from the African American Cinema Society (AACS), the SCA student organization that celebrates Black cinema. Patton began her SCA career as a high schooler attending the School’s Summer Program, before earning a degree in Film and Television production.
In a reflective and inspiring conversation with AACS Vice-President Mikayah Lee, Patton reflected on her remarkable acting career, how her training as a filmmaker has helped her success, her conversion to Buddhism, her future directing plans, and how SCA Vice Dean Michael Renov helped launch her first career as a documentary filmmaker.
Check out the remarkable conversation on the SCA YouTube channel.
