Celebrated cinematographer Robert Yeoman has joined the School of Cinematic Arts faculty, in the Division of Film & Television Production. An SCA alumnus, Yeoman is known for his collaboration with director Wes Anderson, having worked on all of Anderson’s films beginning with Bottle Rocket (1996). Yeoman was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel. He won the Independent Spirit Award for Cinematography for Gus Van Sant’s Drugstore Cowboy. Other notable credits include Noah Baumbach’s The Squid and the Whale, and Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters, both directed by another frequent Yeoman collaborator (and SCA alumnus) Paul Feig.

In a joint message to the SCA community, Dean Elizabeth Daley and Vice-Deans Akira Lippit and Michael Renov described Yeoman as “a remarkable cinematographer and a leader in the art form,” adding that he “has pioneered remarkable techniques and set a high standard for bringing compelling images to the screen. He will no doubt inspire our students to follow in his footsteps.”
