Major Tech CEO Donates $14 Million to The USC School of Cinematic Arts
The USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) Interactive Media & Games Division (IMGD) received a $14 million dollar donation from American business executive John Riccitiello, CEO of Unity Technologies. The generous gift establishes the John Riccitiello Fund which provides a permanent source of financial support for IMGD to ensure that it remains the leader in cutting-edge education and research in interactive media.

Danny Bilson, SCA professor, Chair of IMGD, and Director of USC Games, will be installed as the John Riccitiello Chair in Games and Interactive Media. As Chair, Bilson will continue to lead the division’s efforts to advance the art form of interactive media and games and recruit experienced faculty and industry mentors to support and guide SCA students.
IMGD is the only interactive media program tied to a cinematic arts school, which allows it to provide unprecedented opportunities for students to explore media convergence while pushing the boundaries of storytelling. As half of the prestigious USC Games joint program, shared with the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, the Division also explores the methods and technologies shaping gaming and other entertainment industries.
