On September 25th, 2020, the USC School of Cinematic Arts hosted a virtual screening of documentaries created the 2020 Global Exchange with Communication University of China in Beijing. Seven films, in total, made their debut.

On June 15th, 2020, fourteen students from the Communication University of China in Beijing and the USC School of Cinematic Arts met each other for the first time on ZOOM. They pitched ideas, formed global collaboration teams, and began making film about immigration, life during COVID-19, and love.

The Communication University of China faculty member was Yong Lee, Professor, School and Theatre, Film and Television and the USC School of Cinematic Arts faculty member was Pablo Fransconi, Professor of the Practice of Cinematic Arts. The course benefactor was Stephen Lesser.
