Introducing CTWR 432 -- Shonda Rhimes: The Reinvention of Network Television
Open to all USC students, open registration, and counts towards the Minor in Screenwriting
Instructor: Deborah Seibel
Tuesdays 7:00pm - 10:00pm, section 19325R

There is drama and then there is outrageous drama. Outlandish narratives, warp-speed plot development, amped up emotions, and killer wardrobes. And that's just one of her shows. Rhimes has parlayed a talent for writing addictive, OMG, social media-friendly, "oh no she didn't" television into an unprecedented takeover of an entire evening of prime time.
We'll go deeply into "Shondaland" to discover what made her who she is -- a powerful showrunner and staggeringly influential woman of color -- and her unique approach to writing for film and television.
