An Evening with Acclaimed Director William Friedkin
On February 6, 2015, Academy Award-winning director, William Friedkin lit up the Eileen Norris Cinema Theatre with a fantastic talk about his legendary career. The in-depth conversation gave students and faculty a behind-the-scenes look at a few of Friedkin's widely acclaimed masterworks, including The French Connection (1971), The Exorcist (1973), and Sorcerer (1977). The talk, a Visions and Voices event moderated by Alex Ago, covers everything from troubles in casting, insurance problems associated with shooting in the middle of a country at war, and existentialism. It's a fascinating lecture full of amusing anecdotes, lessons, and helpful advice from the filmmaking legend that any aspiring film student should hear.
