Jason Squire Visits China
Associate Professor of Practice Jason E. Squire's long relationship with China continued this semester as he was inducted into the DeTao Masters Academy as Master of Entertainment Industry Studies, spending Thanksgiving in Shanghai presenting a workshop at the Academy and lecturing at the Shanghai Library.

According to DeTao's vision statement, “DeTao believes that the experts (masters) who drive a wide variety of industries and professions have accumulated enormous wisdom. We are bringing together leading masters from around the world,” from 25 countries and 60 fields, the “Wisdom Collection Heritage.”
In Shanghai, Squire presented a workshop he designed, “Introduction to Creative Movie Development and Marketing” held at the DeTao building on the campus of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. He also delivered a presentation at the Shanghai Library, “Movie Business Essentials."
This was Squire’s seventh academic invitation to China and second visit to Shanghai. His introduction to China was an invitation to present at the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2007. Since then, he has been named Visiting Professor at Beijing Film Academy and his textbook The Movie Business Book has been translated by scholars at Beijing Film Academy in both complex and simplified Chinese characters.
