Interacting with Autism
On Saturday, September 28th, the website is celebrating the launch of Interacting with Autism with an event at the SCA’s new Interactive Media Building. Starting at 10 AM, the event will feature Interacting with Autism’s executive producers and SCA faculty members Mark Jonathan Harris and Marsha Kinder moderating a series of panel discussions around autism. The event is free to attend and open to any interested parties.
Interacting with Autism is a website that takes a new tack. As opposed to other sites which are primarily text, Interacting with Autism is primarily video, aiming for an emotive quality that better meets the needs of families living with autistic members. Funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the website brings together School of Cinematic Arts faculty and students with established medical researchers to create a unique resource. The Launch Event is a co-venture between the Viterbi School of Engineering, The School of Cinematic Arts, the LA Children’s Hospital and the Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Study.
