Jason Squire teaches at Beijing Film Academy
Over the summer, Associate Professor of Practice Jason E. Squire was in Beijing for nearly three weeks at the invitation of Beijing Film Academy.
As Visiting Professor in the BFA Management Department, he presented a series of lectures to their post-graduate students entitled, “Overview of the Hollywood Industrial System.” As part of the lecture series, he invited Raymond Zhou (China Daily media and culture columnist; executive editor-in-chief of China Daily Website), known as "the Roger Ebert of China", for a Q & A with students.
In planning for the BFA’s new Study Center of the Hollywood Industrial System, Jason, in his role as Director, consulted with the Management Dean and colleagues, becoming an integral part of that process.
Separately, he met with government officials from the State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television Research Center(formerly SARFT) about the nature of the global entertainment industry and the growth of the Chinese media business.
