Lynton joins Board
CEO of Sony joins Trojan Family
The School of Cinematic Arts is pleased to announce that Michael Lynton, CEO of Sony Entertainment, Inc., is joining the SCA’s Board of Councilors. Lynton will other luminaries like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas in leading the school’s planning and development, as well as supporting its fundraising efforts.

As CEO of Sony Entertainment, Lynton oversees Sony Music Entertainment, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Sony Pictures Entertainment. During his tenure at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Lynton has lead the division through a digital transformation, while fueling their international growth and fostering strong financial discipline. Prior to Sony, Lynton worked at Time Warner and served as CEO of AOL Europe, President of AOL International and President of Time Warner International.
The School of Cinematic Arts is excited to have someone as diverse as Lynton, whose other civic and leadership responsibilities include membership in the Council on Foreign Relations and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
“The Board of Councilors works in the interest of SCA’s students, who will be the future leaders of our industry,” said Frank Price, alum and Chairman of the SCA Board of Councilors. “Michael is actively working on laying the groundwork for that future.”
