SCA “Marvels” at New Exhibition
Marvel Studios displays collection in SCA

Thor’s hammer. Captain America’s shield. Hawkeye’s bow. After The Avengers, characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow have become as much a part of the fabric of pop culture as any other cinematic creation in history. The USC School of Cinematic Arts is currently hosting a number of production stills, storyboards and other memorabilia in the Hugh M. Hefner Exhibition Hall until the end of July.
“As a graduate, it’s a real treat to have the Marvel exhibit at the School of Cinematic Arts,” said Kevin Feige ‘95, the Producer/President of Marvel Studios. “So many people who worked on the Marvel films went to SCA, so it means a lot to have it here. I want to thank Dean Daley and [Director of Alumni Relations] Justin Wilson for making this possible. I hope the students enjoy going through the exhibit as much as we enjoyed making the movies.”
Among the collection are the suits of Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury, statues of the Hulk, Iron Man and the Destroyer, Loki’s scepter, Bruce Banner’s glasses and the Tesseract itself. The collection also hosts an array of film props, stills and artwork from the films while theatrical trailers from the franchise can be viewed within the exhibit. The space was installed to coincide with a visit from Marvel Studios President/SCA alumnus Kevin Feige on April 26th.
“The School is very pleased to host memorabilia from Marvel Studios,” said Dean Elizabeth M. Daley. “Watching Kevin and Marvel Studio’s success is not only a point of pride for SCA but also an inspiration for the next generation of executives currently studying at the School.”
Marvels Studios is planning an ambitious release schedule, including The Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, The Incredible Hulk, Deadpool, Ant-Man and Captain America 2 by 2014.
