INTERNSHIP NEWSLETTER
All SCA students receive a weekly internship newsletter via e-mail with schedules of events as well as featured internships of the week.
It is in your best interest to attend as many career workshops, seminars and events related to career development as possible.
Academic Credit or Paid: Internships are supervised, structured learning experiences in a professional setting. These experiences should provide meaningful, practical work related to the student’s field of study or career interest. An internship should be mostly administrative in nature. It can either be for pay, at least minimum wage, or for college credit and no more than 20 hours per week during traditional work hours. Up to 40 hours during the summer for paid opportunities. Unpaid/college credit opportunities are restricted to no more than 20 hours for all semesters. You must work with your academic advisor to obtain the clearance for college credits and all the necessary paperwork.
Also, the USC Career Center is a great resource for all USC Students. They have resource links, and they hosts many talks and workshops on Interning while at USC. The CAREER CENTER also has general tutorial videos regarding professional development and an overview of common questions for all students. They are located in the Student Union on campus and online at CAREERS.USC.EDU
