Alessandro Jacomini

Alessandro Jacomini is a director of photography lighting for Walt Disney Animation Studios with more than 35 years of experience in the industry.

Alessandro was one of the directors of cinematography, lighting for the 2021 Academy Award®-winning animated feature “Encanto” from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Alessandro also contributed his talents in the same role on the featurette “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” in 2017, on the short “Frozen Fever” in 2015, and as a lighting supervisor for the Academy Award®-winning “Frozen” in 2013, for which he was awarded the Visual Effects Society award for “Outstanding Created Environment in an Animated Feature” for his work on Elsa’s ice palace.

Prior to joining Disney Animation, Jacomini held positions as a lighting artist and technical director at Rhythm amd Hues Studios on the visual effects features “Mousehunt,” “The Nutty Professor,” “Kazaam”, and the  Oscar®-winning “Babe,” as well as two theme park attractions at the Hilton and Luxor Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Alessandro’s Disney credits also include work as a lighting supervisor for the Oscar®-winning animated feature “Big Hero 6” and on Disney’s “Tangled,” as a lighting sequence lead on the animated features “Bolt” and “Chicken Little,” as a lighting artist on the animated features “Frozen 2,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and “Dinosaur,” the Disney’s theme park attractions “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” and “Magic Lamp 3D,” and recently the animated tv series “Zootopia+” followed by the Disney’s animated features “Strange World” and “Wish”.

Jacomini received his Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Universita’ degli Studi in Milan, Italy. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures since 2017 and has given lectures at Studios, conferences and festivals around the world.
