Justin Parpan is a Writer, Producer and Animator with 15 years of experience in the Animation Industry. In 2014 he art directed Star vs. the Forces of Evil for Disney TV and most recently Victor and Valentino for Cartoon Network. Early in his career he was a background designer on the acclaimed Mickey Mouse Shorts at Disney TV. The series won 5 Emmys including the award for Best Animated Short. That year he also painted backgrounds on the cult series Gravity Falls and was a key production designer on the new DuckTales series. Justin is currently developing a supernatural comedy series called the Midnight Twins with his frequent collaborator and Twin brother Josh Parpan. Justin graduated from the CalArts character animation department in 2006 and soon after published his first children’s book, Gwango’s Lonesome Trail. He briefly worked in children’s publishing before moving to Los Angeles to start his career in animation. For 3 years he was an animator, designer and puppeteer at JibJab and provided early development art for the Emmy award winning series Ask the Storybots. He would go on to Art Direct the pilot episode of King Star King for Adult Swim. In 2015 he created the supernatural comedy Scarecrow Joe with Josh Parpan, and for two years developed the project at Nickelodeon and then Warner Brothers. Justin lives in Santa Monica CA with his wife Lauren and their two children Eli and Vera.
