Catherine Bell is a designer and educator. In her design practice, she specializes in ethical, human-centered design for technology. Her clients have included galleries, museums, and libraries, in projects where technology initiates a human connection between the user and artifacts of the past. Her entrepreneurial software product, Holding Pattern Screensaver, was an Apple staff pick and sparked a collaboration with David Byrne and Brian Eno.
Her goal as an educator is to open pathways for students to become responsible problem solvers, so they can understand the human motivations that give design and technology power and purpose. Her students are empowered to design a better future. She holds an MFA from CalArts in Photography and Integrated Media.
