I became interested in Animation and Visual Effects while studying Communications Design as a graduate student in New York. After working in broadcast graphics in New York for several years ( my wife and ) I decided to move to California to work in Film. My first real movie job was modeling and building facial rigs for the movie Species, at Richard Edlund's Boss Films. Soon after I was able to work on Fifth Element under Mark Stetson at Digital Domain. After that, I moved to San Francisco, and worked at Industrial Light and Magic on the films 'Small Soldiers', 'SW1 - The Phantom Menace', 'Pearl Harbor', 'Rocky & Bullwinkle' and 'Pan'. After 6 years of fog and missing Los Angeles' sunny warm weather, I got a job at Dreamworks working on 'Shark Tale' and 'Over the Hedge'. A few years later I worked on the movie 'Bolt' at Disney Feature Animation.
I mainly work in digital but I have a fondness for traditional animation techniques like hand drawn, stop motion and even experimental work. I'm excited to share my knowledge and production experience with students to help them achieve their own visions in the projects, student films and their future careers.
