Steven Melnick

Steven Melnick is Senior Vice President of Marketing for 20th Century Fox Television, the global content company that serves as 21st Century Fox’s primary supplier of scripted broadcast, cable and streaming programming. Among their series that Melnick has marketed are 24, THE X-FILES, GLEE, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, EMPIRE, MODERN FAMILY, HOMELAND, THIS IS US, FAMILY GUY and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.  In his role, he directs and supports marketing and monetization strategies of the studio’s properties across all linear and digital platforms throughout their lifecycle and, having developed the studio’s branded content and integration business, leads and assists in its growth and management, working with media agencies, brands and network and syndication sales forces.  In all areas he works directly with the studio’s roster of creators and production teams, serving as an advocate for their ideas and helping to navigate them through the many channels that touch their property. 

Melnick is responsible for industry firsts, pioneering the strategy of releasing shows on DVD immediately following their first season which helped turn 24 into a hit and became the industry standard release pattern; and developing the first TV-based mobile web series (“24: Conspiracy”) which earned him a digital Emmy nomination. He helped develop and oversaw the groundbreaking marketing partnership between Empire and Pepsi that resulted in a first-of-its-kind co-branded commercial spot directed by Lee Danels that earned a Clio Music Bronze Award, and he’s been the recipient of the AdWeek Media Vanguard Award and the Promax Marketing Maverick Award.

Melnick lives in Los Angeles with his wife Melissa and their two daughters. He’s a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
