Joe Peracchio (MFA, USC/SCA Writing Division ’13) writes for Deception on ABC, and previously for The Flash and The Messengers, both on the CW Network. He co-produced the ESPN 30for30 film Trojan War, is a graduate of the Warner Bros TV Writers’ Workshop (where he now teaches), and has been nominated for numerous awards including the Humanitas Prize.

He is the Founding Artistic Director of Tricklock Company, Theatre in Residence at the University of New Mexico, and created the Revolutions International Theatre Festival, now in its 18^th season. He was also the founding producer of the Rubicon International Theatre Festival, the California International Theatre Festival, and co-created the Free Speech Comedy Art Series with Paul Provenza.  

Joe played Mike Klink in The CW's acclaimed drama series Easy Money, starring Laurie Metcalf, and was a lead actor and writer for Fences on PBS for two seasons (Gold Medal: NY Festival of Film and TV & nominated twice for Regional Emmy Awards), in addition to many other roles in film and television. He has performed and/or directed on stages across the US, Europe, & Canada, including: The Beard (Seattle Repertory Theatre; Best Production, Seattle Fringe Festival), Whistler's Mother (Playwrights Horizons, NYC), Bukowsical! (Outstanding Musical, New York Fringe Festival), Hollywood’s hit rock-opera Taking the Jesus Pill, and most recently played Jackson Pollock in Pollock, at the Cleveland Playhouse. His play The Glorious & Bloodthirsty Billy the Kid, created with Tricklock Company, has completed three international tours, winning the Spirit of the Fringe Award at the Edinburgh Festival.

Joe was born in Connecticut, grew up on the US/Mexico border, and lives in Los Angeles with his two children - both aspiring writers, actors, & directors themselves.
