Maks Naporowski joined the entertainment industry in Los Angeles as a Computer Graphics Supervisor at Swanson Productions in 1998 on a project called Fish Tank. In 1999 he moved to Centropolis Entertainment’s Visual Effects Company to help build the Motion Capture/Animation pipeline on Mel Gibson’s Patriot. In 2000, Maks contributed his talents to Sony Pictures Imageworks, where as lead technical director he tackled character concepts, animation pipelines, character setup and animation for such films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Chubbchubbs! and Stuart Little 2. At Imageworks, Maks headed technical animation teams, was involved in pre-visualization, character rigging and animation on such films as Matrix Revolutions, Polar Express, The Aviator, Superman Returns, Ghost Rider, Beowulf and I am Legend.

In 2008, Maks joined Blinding Films to direct and supervise visual effects on a number of independent projects while he continued to lecture at various film festivals and conventions around the world, at Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood and at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Maks is part of an expert jury and presents the Hollywood Eagle Award at the Annual Polish Film Festival.

Throughout his career Maks has had the privilege to be a key element in projects which were nominated and won numerous awards. In 2010, his short film, Dawn of Darkness received an honorable mention in best narrative short category and won the best digital effects in narrative short category at The Los Angeles Reel Film Festival. In 2008, at the Cinemagic Festival in Poland, Maks was awarded the Cinemagic award for his achievements in the visual effects field. In 2005, Aviator received a VES award for outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Motion Picture. In 2004, Matrix Revolutions and Bad Boys 2 were nominated for a VES Award, In 2003, the Visual Effects Society awarded the team of Stuarl Little 2 the VES Award for best character animation in an Animated Motion Picture and later, the same year, the visual effects team for Chubbchubbs won an Oscar for Best Animation Short.

In 2010 Maks joined the full time faculty of John C.Hench Animation & Digital Arts at USC School of Cinematic Arts as Instructor of Cinema Practice.
