Matt Scott is an adjunct professor in the Division of Media Arts & Practice teaching courses on giant screen and IMAX filmmaking. He is also the faculty advisor of the Large Format Cinema Club (LFCC). His most recent IMAX documentary work on the film Pandas can be seen at the California Science Center IMAX. He is currently working on a VR film about Burning Man slated for release in Spring of 2019.

Matt began his career and has worked extensively in post-production, focusing mostly on documentary and non-fiction projects for television and theatrical release. As a Post-Production Supervisor he was often called upon to build entire post departments from scratch, designing the workflows, implementing the technology and managing the department.

In 2010, after many years as a Post Production Supervisor, Matt transitioned into IMAX feature documentaries on the film Born To Be Wild. His role in IMAX filmmaking expanded to include creating the digital field workflow on the feature Island of Lemurs: Madagascar where he spent half a year living and working in Madagascar.

Matt returned to USC in 2014 and spent four years as the IMAX Specialist supporting the newly opened Michelle and Kevin Douglas IMAX Theatre and Immersive Lab before transitioning to a teaching position.

Matt is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America and a former documentary programmer for the Slamdance Film Festival. He is a graduate of the Division of Cinema and Media Studies at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
