About About a Hero
When a local factory worker named Dorem Clery dies under mysterious circumstances, our narrator, Werner Herzog, travels to Getunkirchenburg to investigate his perplexing death. But Herzog is not who he seems, and the film is not what we expect...
ABOUT A HERO is an adaptation of a script written by an AI trained on Werner Herzog's body of work, with Herzog's permission.
The result is a fictional narrative that is ironically self-reflective, interlaced with a collection of interviews with artists, philosophers and scientists reflecting on the notion of originality, authenticity, immortality and soul in the age of AI.

PIOTR WINIEWICZ (Director)
Piotr Winiewicz is a Copenhagen based, Polish artist, filmmaker and scenographer. He is a graduate from The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where his diploma film On High in White Tomorrows was awarded the Wurdigung Prize. About a Hero is his debut feature film. SAM PRESSMAN (Producer)
Sam Pressman stepped into his position as CEO of Pressman Film in 2023, taking on the role of his late father, legendary producer Edward R. Pressman. Immersed in film from early in his life Sam graduated with a degree in Film and Media Studies from Stanford University. During his studies he shot the behind the scenes film of Werner Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant (2009). His fascination with Herzog continued with Reconquest of the Useless (2015) a Herzog inspired hybrid documentary which played at the Zurich, Woodstock, DocsMX and Havana Film Festivals. In recent years Sam produced alongside Edward R. Pressman on Charlotte Colbert’s She Will (2021) winner of Best First Feature at the Locarno Film Festival, Mary Harron’s Daliland (2022) and Rupert Sanders’ reboot of The Crow (2024) all three of which were released theatrically worldwide. Pressman has championed innovation and experimentation with emerging technologies with projects such as Matt Tierney and Pierre Zandrowicz’s In Search of Time (2023) which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Marshmallow Laser Feast’s VR/XR experience Evolver (2023) selected to exhibit at the Cannes Film Festival’s first immersive competition.
