About The Church (1989)

In medieval times, a band of crusaders massacre a village of supposed devil-worshippers and build a large cathedral atop the mass grave to keep the evil sealed within. But when a mysterious crypt is accidentally opened centuries later, a group of tourists and staff find themselves trapped inside the church with the spirits of the slaughtered and possessed by the demonic forces one-by-one. Legendary Italian horror maestro Dario Argento (SUSPIRIA) presents this stylish shocker from director Michele Soavi (CEMETERY MAN), featuring an orgy of nightmarish visual effects and a memorable score from Goblin, Keith Emerson, and Philip Glass.

Directed by Michele Soavi. Written by Dario Argento, Franco Ferrini, and Michele Soavi. Produced by Dario Argento, Mario Cecchi Gori, and Vittorio Cecchi Gori. Running time: 102 min.
