About The Thicket
When fierce bounty hunter Reginald Jones (Peter Dinklage) is recruited by a desperate man to track down a ruthless killer known only as Cutthroat Bill (Juliette Lewis), he rallies a band of unlikely heroes including a grave-digging ex-slave and a street-smart woman-for-hire. Together they embark on a perilous quest to track down Cutthroat Bill that leads them into the deadly "no-man's-land" known as...The Thicket.

About the Guests
ELLIOTT LESTER (Director, Producer)
Elliott’s feature film NIGHTINGALE, starring David Oyelowo and produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B, premiered in 2015 on HBO and earned David a “Best Actor” win at the Critic’s Choice Awards. The film also received nominations at the Emmys and Golden Globes. His most recent film AFTERMATH (fka 478), starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & Scoot McNairy and produced by Darren Aronofsky, was released in 2018 via Lionsgate.
Elliott has completed THE THICKET which stars Peter Dinklage, Leslie Grace, Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Andre Royo, and Macon Blair. In addition, he is attached to direct the sci-fi thriller CONTINUUM for Entertainment Studios with Josephson Entertainment producing.
In TV, Elliott recently sold SAY THEIR NAMES to HBO, which he will direct and EP. Sonya Winton & Jonathan Kidd (LOVECRAFT COUNTRY) are writing, with Tribeca producing. Last year, Elliott sold BEATRICE, VERIFIED, a half-hour comedy to CBS/Viacom, which he will also direct and EP. Elliott has previously directed multiple episodes of TV, including WILL (FX) and CONTAINMENT (CW). Elliott is also an established music video director having worked with Avril Lavigne, Selena Gomez, and The Fray, among others.

Outside the Box [Office] is a weekly showcase for upcoming releases highlighting world cinema, documentary and independent film titles. The series draws from around the globe to present movies that may challenge, inspire or simply entertain.

Check-In & Reservations
This screening is free of charge and open EXCLUSIVELY to USC Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni, NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. USC IDs will be checked at the door. A reservation confirmation will automatically be sent to your e-mail account upon successfully making an RSVP through this website. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M.
All SCA screenings are OVERBOOKED to ensure seating capacity in the theater, therefore seating is not guaranteed based on RSVPs. The RSVP list will be checked in on a first-come, first-served basis until the theater is full. Once the theater has reached capacity, we will no longer be able to admit guests, regardless of RSVP status.
