About The Cult of AGFA Trailer Show

Step into the multiplex from Dimension X.

There's nothing dreamier than the moment when the lights go down and the show begins. Now imagine capturing that feeling for 77 minutes of concentrated bliss. Exploding from the vaults of the American Genre Film Archive (AGFA), THE CULT OF AGFA TRAILER SHOW is a sequel to THE AGFA HORROR TRAILER SHOW... and AGFA's wildest mixtape yet.

This is a hallucinogenic journey through the most face-kicking, slime-slinging, fret-shredding cult film trailers that the unworld has ever seen. Meticulously constructed by the mad scientists at AGFA to resemble an otherworldly night at a mall multiplex, this compilation features rare trailers, commercials, and ephemera — all of which were preserved and scanned exclusively for this project.

About 15 Years of AGFA

Formed in 2009, the American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) is an Austin, TX-based non-profit committed to preserving both the legacy of genre film and the theatrical experience itself. Through collection, conservation and distribution, AGFA has rescued over 100 feature films from the void. Housing theatrical and video distribution arms, a 4K film scanner and over six thousand 35mm prints, AGFA will never rest until genre movies rule the world.

Join us for an expansive series of screenings based upon some of AGFA’s favorite in-house projects, including the works of exploitation film pioneer Doris Wishman, underground trash-art king Jon Moritsugu, Riot Grrrl icon Sarah Jacobson, found-footage founder Joe Dante and the world restoration premiere of Dave Markey’s ‘80s L.A. punk rock opus Desperate Teenage Lovedolls.

About Outside the Box [Office]

Outside the Box [Office] is a weekly showcase for upcoming releases highlighting world cinema, documentary and independent film titles. The series draws from around the globe to present movies that may challenge, inspire or simply entertain.
