About the Guests
LAILA NABULSI (Producer)
Laila’s long partnership and creative alliance with Hunter Thompson began when they met at Saturday Night Live, where Nabulsi produced short films, “Schiller’s Reel” and spearheaded The Blues Brothers first double platinum album, Briefcase Full of Blues. Over the years their collaborative endeavors included a large format, limited edition book, The Curse of Lono, an innovative CD adaptation of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and a stage adaptation of Fear & Loathing with John Cusack’s The New Criminals group in Chicago. Due to these critical and commercial successes, Thompson tapped Nabulsi to produce the feature film version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, starring Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro, with Terry Gilliam at the helm. Thompson and Nabulsi have always envisioned a live, immersive, theatrical production of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. With the support and cooperation of the Hunter S. Thompson trust, Nabulsi is ready to launch the surreal, fantastical rock and roll version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, in Vegas, as well as establishing The Hunter S. Thompson Institute as a resource for artists in all mediums, with plans for mobile archive exhibitions and dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism.

About Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
When a writing assignment lands journalist Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp) and sidekick Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) in Las Vegas, they decide to make it the ultimate business trip. But before long, business is forgotten and trip has become the key word. Fueled by a suitcase full of mind-bending pharmaceuticals, Duke and Gonzo set off on a fast and furious ride through nonstop neon, surreal surroundings and a crew of the craziest characters ever (including cameo appearances by Cameron Diaz, Christina Ricci, Gary Busey and many others). But no matter where misadventure leads them, Duke and Gonzo discover that sometimes going too far is the only way to go.
