Hello SCA Faculty,

We invite SCA faculty to a hands-on workshop introducing some of the AI tools available for generating stories, images, and video, such as Midjourney, Runway, DALL-E and ChatGPT.

This informal workshop offers a chance to explore writing “prompts” for images and video; asking questions of ChatGPT to explore ideas; and seeing how our students are using these AI to create new work.

The tools are both exciting and troubling: you’re invited to try them out and have a conversation about what they mean for all of us.

The workshop will take place Friday, March 24, 9:00 a.m. to noon, in the World Building Media Lab in Zemeckis. You can stop by any time during that window and play. Bring your laptop or use one of ours.

We chose this date and time in order to connect with the Virtual Production Open House, which takes place noon - 3:00 p.m. that same day on the Motion Capture Stage in Zemeckis.

So please come by, have a cup of coffee, try out the tools, and chat with colleagues! We hope to see you there.
