About the Guest
BO BURNHAM (Writer, Director)
Bo Burnham is a comedian from Boston, Massachusetts. He has made three, hour-long live comedy specials — Words, Words, Words, what., and Make Happy — and directed specials for Jerrod Carmichael and Chris Rock. Eighth Grade is his first film.
ELSIE FISHER (Actress, "Kayla")
Elsie just wrapped the lead role of "Kayla" in Eighth Grade, directed by Bo Turnham and produced by Scott Rudin, which premiered at Sundance 2018 to rave reviews of her performance. Before that, she played a supporting role in Disney Pictures' feature film McFarland, in which she plays Kevin Costner and Maria Bello's daughter. She voiced the lead role of 'Agnes' in Universal Pictures' animated feature Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2. Elsie has also booked roles on television shows such as FOX's Raising Hope, CBS's Mike & Molly and NBC's Medium, and she previously played a supporting role in the indie feature Dirty Girl opposite Juno Temple.
Outside the Box [Office]
Outside the Box [Office] is a weekly showcase for upcoming releases highlighting world cinema, documentary and independent film titles. Recognizing a need for greater diversity on campus, the series will draw from around the globe to present movies that may challenge, inspire or simply entertain.
