About Joe Mantello

Joe Mantello is a two-time Tony, Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, Helen Hayes, Clarence Derwent, Obie, and Joe A. Callaway Award-winning director. He won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for Assassins and Take Me Out on Broadway. Additional directing credits: The Glass Menagerie, The Humans (Tony & Drama Desk nom.), Blackbird, An Act of God, Airline Highway, The Last Ship, Casa Valentina, I’ll Eat You Last, The Other Place, Dogfight, Other Desert Cities, The Pride, Pal Joey, 9 to 5 (Drama Desk nom.), November, The Receptionist, The Ritz, Three Days of Rain, The Odd Couple, Glengarry Glen Ross (Tony & Drama Desk nom.), Laugh Whore, Wicked (Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Director of a Musical), Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, A Man of No Importance, Design for Living, The Vagina Monologues, Bash, Love! Upcoming in Spring 2018, Mantello will direct the Broadway productions of Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women starring Glenda Jackson, Laurie Metcalf, and Alison Pill, and The Boys in the Band starring Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer, Andrew Rannells, and Zachary Quinto.
