Jesse Damiani is a writer, curator, and advisor in new media art and emerging technologies. He is Senior Curator at Nxt Museum, Arts & Culture Advisor for Protocol Labs, and Adjunct Assistant Professor in USC’s Media Arts + Practice program. Damiani is the author of I Create Like the Word: Poetry in the Age of Machine Intelligence (Black Ocean, 2024) and a Forbes Contributor, with recent writing in Architectural Design, Flash Art, NBC News, The Verge, and WIRED. An Affiliate of both the metaLAB at Harvard and Institute for the Future, Damiani is host of Adobe’s Taking Shape, a hub for 3D art and design. Recent curated exhibitions include Lilypads: Mediating Exponential Systems at Nxt Museum, SMALL V01CE at Honor Fraser Gallery, Conjured Terrain at Vellum LA, and PROOF OF ART at Francisco Carolinum Linz. He founded and for many years edited Best American Experimental Writing (Wesleyan University Press), and formerly served as Editor-at-Large of VRScout, Curator of the XR For Change summit at the Games for Change Festival, and Director of Emerging Technology and Insight at Southern New Hampshire University, where he led the Future of Work initiative. Damiani lives in Los Angeles, CA, where he runs the Reality Studies newsletter and Urgent Futures podcast.
