Luis Grane

Los Angeles based artist, born in Argentina.

Luis Grane is an all-around artist with 20+ years working as an animator, designer and concept artist working on feature films, tv series, commercials and music videos for studios like Sony, DreamWorks, Warner Bros, Disney, Pixar, Aardman and Laika. In such films as Ratatouille (Academy Award winner for best animated feature) The Matrix, The Boxtrolls, Spirit, Hotel Transylvania and Spider Man 2 (Academy Award winner for Best Visual Effects) among others. He collaborated with numerous renowned directors such as Heinz Edelmann, Sam Raimi, Santiago Segura and Richard Linklater.

Recently, he was the supervising director in the Peabody Award Netflix show “City of Ghosts”, and he is currently the Supervising Director for an upcoming Netflix Adult animation show.

As an independent visual artist, he is known for his multimedia and design work, he did the production design of Alice in Wonderland for the Grand Rapids Ballet Company in 2017 that toured  other cities around the US.

His murals and street art can be seen in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Tokyo.

His art videos and installations had been shown in museums and festivals around the world.

He gave master classes and workshops at the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City and at the Cinemateca of The Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and his video installation work was exhibited at Royal Scottish Academy of Art.
