Jennifer Kushner is the Manager of International Programs at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. In this role, she is responsible for the USC Netflix programs that elevate and upskill above and below the line talent in the Middle East, Africa and beyond. Her work extends to a diverse range of international consultancies offered by USC SCA.
In 2021, Jennifer was hired by Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat to lead the groundbreaking Women Write Now initiative. Under her leadership, the program, in collaboration with the Sundance Institute, has become a beacon of opportunity for Black women in comedy screenwriting, fostering creativity and community.
From 2020-2023, Jennifer designed and implemented Australians in Film's prestigious Industry Development Initiatives. These programs, including the Global Producers Exchange, Talent Gateway and Untapped, nurture Australian talent and bridge the gap with the American film and television industry.
With over a decade of experience at Film Independent, Jennifer held the position of Director of Artist Development. During her tenure, she championed the careers of numerous filmmakers through a robust slate of mentorship programs, labs and grants. Her dedication to fostering talent extended to the creation of Global Media Makers, a transformative cultural exchange and residency program in partnership with the US Department of State supporting mid-career filmmakers from around the globe.
Originally from San Francisco, Jennifer received her MFA in Production from USC School of Cinematic Arts and her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Performance Studies.
