Tyger Williams

Tyger Williams is a screenwriter best known for writing the film Menace II Society, which debuted at the Cannes Film festival as part of the Director’s Fortnight selection and went on to win an MTV Best Movie of the Year award.  Williams has written over thirty screenplays for feature films and television and has sold original screenplays, as well as written on assignment, for all of the major film and television studios including; Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers, Disney, Fox, Showtime, and HBO. 

Williams also serves as a Creative Advisor to the Sundance Screenwriting Lab in Utah, as well as Sundance International where he has worked with filmmakers at Labs in the Czech Republic, Jordan, South Africa, and Brazil.  He has also held individual screenwriting workshops in Nigeria. 

Most recently Williams was named as a film expert in the American Film Showcase; a joint effort by the U.S Department of State and USC to present selected documentary and feature films in countries around the world.

A member of the Writer’s Guild of America and the Indie Writer’s Steering Committee, Williams teaches feature and short film screenwriting.
