Miles Watkins, M.F.A.

Miles Watkins has been a successful director of film, episodic television, documentaries, and educational-industrial films, for which he has been honored for his work.

Through a fellowship for directing at the American Film Institute’s Center for Advanced Film Studies, Watkins has trained beginning students in the craft, and launched a Workshop for Women in the Arts that trained Lily Tomlin, Maya Angelou, Lee Grant, Dyan Cannon, Margot Kidder, Ellen Burstyn, Lynn Littman and many more.

Among the awards he has received since earning his Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of Cinematic Arts is the Meyrig Award for Best Student Film, and the Scott Newman Award for directing the television series, Life Goes On.

Watkins is a member of the Directors Guild and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
