Luci Marzola

Student Services Advisor II

Luci Marzola is the Program Coordinator for the Division of Cinema and Media Studies (CAMS). She holds a PhD and MA from CAMS and a BA in Communications from UCLA. In addition to teaching industry history classes at USC, UC Irvine, and Chapman University, Marzola has written for IndieWire, American Cinematographer, and Film History. Before that, she spent several years in production and post-production coordination. She was a 2019-2020 recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship and a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in Cinema and Media Studies at USC in 2017-2018. Her research focuses on the history of media technology, industry, and labor. She is the author of Engineering Hollywood: Technology, Technicians, and the Science of Building the Studio System (Oxford University Press, 2021) and the co-editor of Hollywood Unions (Rutgers University Press, 2024).
