Michael Cassutt has been writing and producing prime-time television for thirty years, serving on the staff of fourteen different series, from The Twilight Zone and Max Headroom to Eerie, Indiana and the Showtime revival of The Outer Limits. He has written freelance episodes of Stargate SG-1, Farscape and many others. More recently he co-created, with George R. R. Martin, Captain Comet, currently in development at HBO. He is also serving as co-executive producer of a new 13-episode SyFy Channel series scheduled to air in August 2014. Cassutt is the author of fiction and non-fiction, including three-dozen short stories in various SF publications as well as the novels Missing Man (1998), Red Moon (2001) and Tango Midnight (2003). With David S. Goyer, he wrote a science fiction trilogy: Heaven’s Shadow (2011), Heaven’s War (2012) and Heaven’s Fall (2013). This series is currently being developed as features by Goyer and Cassutt for Warner Studios. Other works include spaceflight-related non-fiction such as Deke! From Mercury to the Shuttle, the autobiography of Mercury astronaut Donald K. “Deke” Slayton (1994), We Have Capture: Tom Stafford and the Space Race (2002), and three editions of the biographical encyclopedia, Who’s Who in Space (1987-99). For nine years he wrote a column for Scifi.com dealing with SF and television (The Cassutt Files). Born in Minnesota and raised in Wisconsin, Cassutt received a B.A. in radio-television from the University of Arizona.
