CTCS-465: SINNERS - ART & INDUSTRY

The School of Cinematic Arts invites USC Students of ALL YEARS & MAJORS
to Register for the Fall 2026 Semester Course:

CTCS-465
SINNERS: ART & INDUSTRY

Taught by SCA Professor JD Connor
SINNERS

Wednesday nights from 7:00 p.m. - 9:50 p.m.

All USC Students are eligible to enroll.
NO D-CLEARANCE NEEDED. 2 UNITS.

How did Sinners happen? What is its significance—as a blockbuster, a vampire movie, a musical, a chronicle of race and culture in the US over time? What can it tell us about motion picture production today? What can it tell us about culture as such? To get at these questions, this colloquium will center on interviews with both craftspeople and studio executives—many USC alums; readings in creative industry discourse, genre, and racial history; and screenings of crucial films that influenced the project or that might provide context.

Screenings may include: From Dusk Till Dawn, Near Dark, The Housemaid, Sounder, Fruitvale Station, The Thing, and The Faculty
