From page to stage to global box office triumph...

This fall, join Los Angeles Times culture columnist and critic Mary McNamara on Monday nights as she takes students behind the scenes of one of the biggest pop culture phenomenons of 2024. CTCS 482 - The Wonderful World of Wicked, will feature interviews with key personnel behind Wicked: Part One, and explore how a controversial novel with a little-known author went on to become one of the longest running productions in Broadway history, and most recently, a Best Picture-nominated picture. Whether you already know every word to "Popular" or know nothing about the adventures of Elphaba and Galinda (the Ga is silent), this course will be perfect preparation for the release of the highly-anticipated sequel, Wicked: For Good, in November 2025.
