Information for International Students

WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING INTERNATIONAL APPLICATIONS FOR COURSES THAT START ON OR AFTER 6/23/08

Each year our Summer Program welcomes many students from all over the world. There are no additional academic requirements for international students that would affect acceptance into the program. If you wish to learn the craft or business of filmmaking, then you are invited to enroll in any of our many popular courses covering all aspects of the entertainment industry. Enrich your knowledge of filmmaking, screenwriting, computer graphics and gaming or film/television business from the oldest and most prolific film school in the United States.

All classes in our Summer Program are regular courses in the USC School of Cinematic Arts and are for college credit. In most cases they are taught by our regular faculty and use the same facilities and equipment used during the school year by full time students. We provide all cameras, lights, film and digital stock, film processing and all post-production facilities. Cinema and USC full time students also take part in these classes in summer.

Tuition is the same for any course in the University and it is based on the number of units in your desired class. Summer 2008 tuition at USC is one thousand one hundred and eighty five dollars per unit. You can multiply that by the number of units you are going to sign up for to determine your tuition fees. At the end of each online detailed class description you will find the number of units for each class and the dates, days and times it meets.

USC requires its short-term scholars to have appropriate documentation in order to take summer courses. The issuance of visas takes approximately 4-6 weeks, depending upon the length of process in your home country. It is important to submit this paperwork in a timely fashion in order to avoid time constraints preventing issuance of the visa. There are a few minor fees associated with this process that total about two to three hundred dollars. English language proficiency, proof of existing, or access to insurance and medical coverage is required for visa issuance.
