Housing
USC on-campus housing is available for any SCA Summer Program students needing accommodations.
Please note that housing costs are separate and NOT covered in the student tuition.
All tuition and housing fees must be paid in full before June 15, 2026 in order to secure your enrollment in the Program and to guarantee your housing assignment.
Failure to pay the tuition and housing fees in full by June 15, 2026 could jeopardize your enrollment in the SCA Summer Program and could impact your future standing with the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Please read the following carefully as the procedures differ for Pre-College Students (16 & 17 years old) and students over the age of 18.
Adults (18+ and older)
- You must be 18 years old by June 15 of the year you are applying.
- If you turn 18 after June 15, you will automatically be considered a Pre-College student, and you must apply for Pre-College housing.
- Housing accommodations for adults (18+ years old) are managed through USC Housing, not through the SCA Summer Program. The housing brochure and application are now available for SCA Summer Program Students.
Pre-College Students (16 & 17 year-olds)
- You must turn 16 by June 15 of the year you want to attend the Program.
- Location: USC Village in the McCarthy Honors Residential College-across the street from the main campus and a short walk to the SCA Cinema Complex.
- Roommate assignments are gender-specific, based on the gender identification submitted within applications.
- Residential Pre-College students must be inside their assigned residential hall by 10:00 p.m. all nights, including the weekends, with an “in room” policy in effect at 10:30 p.m. each night.
-
Residential Pre-College students may access academic facilities on the University Park Campus, but for safety reasons, some
nearby areas are restricted. Students are allowed to visit select shopping areas within a 10-minute walk—University Village,
University Gateway, and Tuscany Plaza—which feature stores, restaurants, and ATMs including Target, Trader Joe’s,
Starbucks, and Bank of America.
- Please consult the SCA Summer Program Campus Boundary Map to see the specific details.

Dining
Discretionary Dollars
Discretionary Dollars are a way for you to use your USC Student ID card as a debit card at certain dining locations and cafes on and around campus, including the USC Dining Hall - which serves delicious breakfast, delectables lunches, and delightful dinners - and select restaurants in the USC Village.
If you are accepted in the Program, you will activate your USC account and will apply for your USC Student ID card. You can then purchase Discretionary Dollars to add to your USC ID Card.
