In this intensive indtroductory course, students will learn the basics of screenwriting. This class format is a combination of:
- In-class exercises
Students will learn many lessons in writing including (but not exclusive to):
- Acquiring a personal, professional style of writing in the screenplay format
- Developing an understanding of character and conflict
- Learning to write from a cinematic perspective
- Understanding the importance of rewriting
Additionally, remembering that all writers have a goal of improving, constructive criticism is a huge part of the process. Students will receive such criticism from both their fellow classmates and instructor.
This course if perfect for those who have always wanted to write their ideas into a screenplay, but did not have the knowledge to do so.
